The Institute of Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of the National Research Council (CNR) is the official Italian partner of the Regenstrief Institute (http://loinc.org/international/italian), with which it has signed in 2014 a Memorandum of Understanding that recognizes IIT as the author of the official Italian version of the international coding standard LOINC.
The IIT, through the working group LOINC Italy:
- update the Italian version of LOINC every six months;
- translates the information material about LOINC into Italian;
- provides domain users with an online helpdesk service;
- carries out training seminars on the use of the standard and provides control and validation services of mappings towards the LOINC standard.
